Professional genealogist, Melissa J. Ellis, has over 30 years of experience in researching family history. During this workshop attendees will learn of early types of emigration schemes that helped our ancestors establish themselves in Canada, and the background history to the types of documentation that was created once they arrived. We will examine immigrant groups and historical factors that motivated them to leave their home countries. In addition, we will review research suggestions to help us explore the large databases and find ancestors.
